Al-Kitab University is pleased to announce a distinguished academic achievement, as Dr. Omeed Darweesh, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, has published a research article in the Q1-ranked journal Expert Review of Anti-infective Therapy entitled: “Non-prescription antibiotic dispensing and counseling practices in Iraqi community pharmacies: implications for antimicrobial stewardship and resistance containment.” This publication reflects the College’s strong commitment to advancing high-quality research and addressing critical public health challenges, particularly the rational use of antibiotics and combating antimicrobial resistance. This achievement also underscores the successful implementation of the scientific cooperation agreement with University of Strathclyde, as the study was conducted in collaboration with researchers from the university, further strengthening international partnerships and academic excellence.
