Al-Kitab University participated in the announcement ceremony of the 2026 GreenMetric Global Ranking results, held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Gas University from September 23–25, 2026. The university was represented by Mr. Yaqoub Najm Al-Din Saeed, investor of Al-Kitab University, and Prof. Dr. Omar Najm Al-Din Anjah.

The university achieved notable progress in the ranking results compared to last year, with its points rising from 7,110 points in 2025 to 7,287.5 points in 2026, advancing from 428th to 419th place globally. It also secured 14th place among Iraqi universities and 5th place among private universities and colleges.

This progress came amid an increase in the number of universities participating in the ranking, from 1,745 universities last year to 2,003 universities in 2026, reflecting the university’s continued growth in global rankings, which saw competition from 92 Iraqi public and private universities.

On the sidelines of the events, Al-Kitab University signed a memorandum of understanding with Azerbaijan State Oil and Gas University, in a step aimed at enhancing academic and scientific cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two universities. Al-Kitab University was also honored in recognition of its participation and achievement in the ranking.

This progress affirms Al-Kitab University’s continued efforts to develop its institutional performance and enhance its standing locally and globally, contributing to the advancement of higher education and scientific research.
