Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Kitab University Achieves Research Publication in a Q1 Canadian Scientific Journal

In a new scientific achievement that adds to the series of academic and research successes achieved by Al-Kitab University, Dr. Amid Omar Darwish, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, published a scientific research paper in a prestigious Canadian scientific journal, classified within the first quartile (Q1) in the scientific journal ranking.

This achievement reflects the advanced level of research activity at Al-Kitab University and the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to supporting rigorous scientific research and encouraging academic output that addresses priority health issues at both the national and international levels.

The research addresses the topic of antimicrobial resistance in four Iraqi governorates, through a multicenter cross-sectional study aimed at monitoring patterns of bacterial resistance to antibiotics, and providing scientific data that contributes to supporting policies for rationalizing antibiotic use and promoting their optimal utilization, in line with the World Health Organization classifications and global strategies in public health.

In a distinctive gesture, the journal celebrated the published research by displaying an image on its website featuring a map of Iraq and the governorates where the study was conducted, along with a scenic view of the Tigris River, reflecting the geographical and cultural presence of Iraq in internationally published scientific research.

This achievement affirms Al-Kitab University’s continued commitment to advancing the level of scientific research and strengthening the presence of its researchers in prestigious international scientific journals, contributing to solidifying its academic standing and supporting its journey toward scientific and research excellence.
