Al-Kitab University Celebrates World Laboratory Day

Al-Kitab University celebrated World Laboratory Day, observed on April 15, by organizing a distinguished scientific event attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Ayad Barznchy; the Scientific Assistant, Dr. Hazaa Dawood; and the Dean of the Technical Medical College, Dr. Burhan Ahmed, along with a number of faculty members and students.

At the beginning of the event, the Dean of the Technical Medical College, Dr. Burhan Ahmed, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of medical laboratories and their role in supporting the educational process and scientific research. He also praised the efforts of faculty members and students in developing laboratory skills and keeping pace with the latest scientific technologies.

The event featured a scientific lecture delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Parween Hashim Saleem, in which she discussed the latest laboratory methods for measuring blood glucose levels. She also shed light on best practices and the factors affecting result accuracy, in addition to presenting a comparison between traditional laboratory methods and commercially available testing kits.

The program also included a second scientific lecture delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmad Najmuddin Majid Aziz, which addressed the concepts of benchmarking in medical laboratories and biosafety levels. He emphasized the importance of adhering to standard procedures to ensure quality performance and the safety of laboratory personnel.
