The Department of Law in the College of Law and International Relations organized a symposium entitled “the peaceful coexistence and the civil peace, the ways and the guarantees” on Monday 24th of December 2018. The University President, Deputy for scientific affairs, the Dean of the college of Law, the head of the department of political sciences of Kirkuk University, and a number of staff, students and employees attended the symposium. The symposium tackled the efficient ways to embody the peaceful coexistence among the people of Iraq regardless of their ethnic or religious identity to ensure the social harmony due to the shared homeland, interests, and destiny. Many papers were presented that tackled: an introduction to the peaceful coexistence and the civil peace by Dr. Faisal Mohammed, the legal guarantees for the peaceful coexistence by Dr. Saad Jaddallah and Dr. Ogab Ahmed, the peaceful coexistence as a base for fighting extremism and terrorism by Dr. Talaat Chiyad and Dr. Nabeel Al-Obeidi, the views of the Iraqi enactments from the peaceful coexistence by Dr. Hatim Ghaaib and Mr. Ahmed Adel, and the concept of the peaceful coexistence in Islam by Miss Nishtiman Hasan. At the end of the symposium, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the lecturers and researchers.
