College of Pharmacy at Al-Kitab University Signs Twinning Agreement with Its Counterpart at the University of Kirkuk

Prof. Assist. Dr. Omed Omar Darwesh, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Kitab University, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Talaat Abbas, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Kirkuk, signed a twinning and joint scientific cooperation agreement. This step is part of the university’s commitment to strengthening academic partnerships and engaging with educational institutions across Iraq, contributing to the advancement of scientific and academic standards.

The agreement aims to enhance joint cooperation in several scientific and academic fields, most notably the development and standardization of pharmaceutical curricula, as well as the exchange of books and scientific resources, thereby supporting the quality of education and raising the academic level of students.

The agreement also includes the organization of joint training workshops to develop the capacities of faculty and technical staff, collaboration in summer training programs for students of both colleges, and joint supervision of graduation projects for final-year students. This will promote the exchange of expertise and reinforce the practical aspect of pharmaceutical education.

In this context, Dr. Omed Omar, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Kitab University, stated:

“The signing of this agreement represents an important strategic step toward enhancing scientific and academic cooperation between the two institutions. It reflects the college’s commitment to openness and knowledge exchange, which contributes to the development of curricula, the improvement of student and faculty competencies, and opens new horizons for collaboration in scientific research and practical training — all of which will positively impact the quality of pharmaceutical education in Iraq.”
