The Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, officially approved on September 30, 2025, is a pioneering department within the College of Engineering at Al-Kitab University. It specializes in training qualified engineers and technical staff to design, develop, and manage renewable energy systems. The program focuses on practical skills in solar energy technologies, wind power systems, bioenergy solutions, energy storage, and smart grid integration. The department offers integrated curricula that blend theoretical knowledge with extensive laboratory and field training, enabling students to conduct energy audits, optimize renewable energy systems, and implement sustainable energy solutions. It collaborates closely with energy companies, government agencies, and research institutions to provide students with real-world experience. The department is supported by advanced laboratories for renewable energy testing and is supervised by a distinguished group of academics and technical experts in sustainable energy engineering.

To be a national leader in graduating highly competent renewable energy engineers who can drive Iraq’s transition toward sustainable energy and contribute to global environmental preservation.
