As part of the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to enhancing the scientific and practical aspects of its students and providing opportunities for direct exposure to the latest developments in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, a scientific and field visit was organized today, Friday, August 14, 2026, for fourth and fifth-stage students to the MEDICO 2026 Exhibition and Conference, held at the Erbil International Fair, under the supervision of the College of Pharmacy’s Deanship.

The visit was part of the summer training program, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Zaid Nabil, the Summer Training Supervisor in Erbil, with the participation of a group of fourth and fifth-stage students. The aim was to enhance their scientific knowledge and bridge the gap between academic learning and practical applications in the labor market and pharmaceutical sector.

The visit included a field tour through the exhibition halls, allowing students to closely explore the latest technologies and developments in the healthcare and pharmaceutical fields. They had the opportunity to review the products and services of a number of companies specializing in pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies, as well as to benefit from the accompanying events and scientific lectures.

Students also attended a scientific lecture organized by the Diabetes and Endocrinology Association in Erbil, in the presence of the association’s president. The lecture provided an important opportunity to learn about the latest scientific developments in the fields of diabetes and endocrinology and to benefit from the expertise and knowledge shared by specialists.

The visit also included a tour of several pharmaceutical companies, where communication was established with Iraqi companies specializing in drug manufacturing, including Bioner and Amedica. Discussions were held regarding the possibility of organizing future scientific visits for college students to the laboratories of these companies.
