Al-Kitab University hosted today (Thursday) the proceedings of the Fourth Regular Meeting of the Committee of Deans of Nursing Colleges in Iraq, held at the university’s premises amidst a distinguished academic celebration and organization.

At the opening of the session, the Administrative Assistant to the President of Al-Kitab University, Dr. Abdulilah Hameed Yassin, delivered a speech welcoming the esteemed guests. He affirmed Al-Kitab University’s commitment and readiness to provide full facilitation and support to ensure the success of the Deans’ Committee’s work and to host such national meetings that contribute to advancing the academic and scientific reality of Iraqi universities and serve the healthcare sector.

Prof. Dr. Imran Jamal, President of the University of Kirkuk, also delivered a speech praising the efforts made by the Committee of Deans of Nursing Colleges in unifying educational visions and plans. He expressed his appreciation for the gracious hosting by Al-Kitab University and emphasized the importance of continuous integration and coordination among all governmental and private educational institutions to develop curricula and prepare qualified nursing cadres that meet labor market requirements and international standards.

The meeting witnessed wide, high-level participation, including:

During the meeting, a number of key topics were discussed aimed at developing nursing education in Iraq, including:

• Following up on steps to update and develop curricula to align with the latest international scientific standards
• Reviewing the requirements for academic accreditation standards and quality assurance in nursing colleges and specializations
• Exploring ways to enhance academic cooperation and unify visions among governmental, private, and regional universities to improve graduate competence and supply the healthcare sector with highly qualified specialized nursing cadres

At the conclusion of the meeting, a ceremony was held to honor participating universities and colleges, presenting them with shields and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their active participation and their diligent role in advancing the medical and nursing education sector in Iraq.
