Al-Kitab University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior / Directorate of Drug Affairs in Kirkuk and the Community Police, continues the activities of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week, the first activities of which were launched on the first day as part of a national initiative aimed at enhancing community awareness of the dangers of drugs and limiting their spread among youth.
During the opening scientific session, two specialized lectures were presented:
• The first lecture was delivered by Engineer Shwan Najat Mohammed from the Relations and Media Division of the Kirkuk Drug Affairs Directorate, in which he addressed the dangers of drugs and the important role of academic staff and students in spreading awareness within the community.
• The second lecture was given by Assistant Professor Dr. Shadhal Khalaf Noman from the College of Pharmacy, entitled: Drug Addiction – Diagnosis and Treatment Methods, which dealt with mechanisms for proper diagnosis and modern treatment means.
The week’s activities continue for seven consecutive days within the university campus, including specialized workshops, introductory sessions, and awareness campaigns targeting students and the local community, aiming to spread the culture of health awareness and enhance the partnership between the university and security and health institutions in confronting the drug phenomenon.
