Al-Kitab University Participates in the “Iraq Without Drugs” Conference in Baghdad

In line with the government program for the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week through various events and activities, the President of Al-Kitab University, Professor Dr. Iyad Barzanji, along with a number of presidents and professors from Iraqi universities, participated in the “Iraq Without Drugs” conference held at Al-Nahrain University. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director General of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The conference witnessed active participation from various academic institutions, where a number of specialists in health and social awareness fields delivered distinguished lectures on the dangers and harms of drugs on individuals and society. The lectures also addressed methods of prevention and treatment of this scourge, providing valuable information to participants on how to combat this widespread phenomenon.

Additionally, the university set up a dedicated booth during the conference, showcasing a series of awareness posters aimed at increasing community awareness about the health and social risks associated with drug abuse. These posters focused on delivering awareness messages on how to protect youth and society from this looming threat.

At the conclusion of the conference, Al-Kitab University was honored with a shield of appreciation in recognition of its active contribution to supporting the conference’s goals and spreading awareness about the dangers of drugs.

This participation marks an important step towards enhancing cooperation among Iraqi universities in the field of community awareness and reaffirms Al-Kitab University’s commitment to its prominent role in promoting health and social culture within and beyond the academic community.
