The Interior Design major in universities is a specialization largely responsible for interior design. It also defines buildings and facilities. Interior design is connected to architectural engineering and is known as environmental design or decoration engineering, although there are significant differences between them. Environmental design focuses on designing all aspects of the surrounding environment in an enjoyable and attractive way, and it is also concerned with designing and planning spaces.

It focuses on meeting human needs for architectural spaces in their various types and forms, with the ability to utilize raw materials and their formative potential in the process of finishing these spaces.

The Department of Technical Interior Design was established at Al-Kitab University / College of Applied Arts in the academic year 2023-2024. Since its establishment, the department has sought to empower students with all the necessary theoretical, practical, and technical requirements in the field of interior design and decoration, in line with the developments in this modern specialization.
