The Department of Oil and Gas Refinery Engineering, officially approved on September 30, 2025, is a pioneering department within the College of Engineering at Al-Kitab University. It specializes in training qualified engineers and technical staff to design, develop, and operate oil and gas refinery systems. The program focuses on practical skills in petroleum refining processes, petrochemical technology, plant design and optimization, equipment maintenance, and environmental management in refineries. The department offers integrated curricula that blend theoretical knowledge with extensive laboratory and field training, enabling students to conduct refinery operations research, optimize production processes, and implement advanced refining solutions across the energy sector. It collaborates closely with oil companies, government energy agencies, and research institutions to provide students with real-world experience. The department is supported by advanced refinery simulation laboratories and is supervised by a distinguished group of academics and technical experts in petroleum refining engineering.
