Message
To develop the student’s level scientifically, practically, and educationally by following advanced scientific methods and means in teaching and generating knowledge of the principles of digital media and applying them to achieve the desired scientific benefit.
Vision
Given the urgent need for modern and new media, Al-Kitab University established the Department of Digital Media within the College of Media. This department offers global programs for granting a Bachelor’s degree in this specialization. Students in this department are introduced to important topics related to digital media, which inherently include the integration of filmmaking, visual effects, and interactive media with the user in various forms.
Goals
- To teach and train students to qualify and graduate competent media professionals equipped with scientific knowledge that works to bring about scientific change in society and consolidate scientific principles, thereby contributing to the development of the community.
- The Digital Media program, prepared by the Department of Digital Media, is based on a new curriculum in a constantly evolving technological media field. It compensates for training gaps by basing the teaching structure on fieldwork, providing a learning environment, delivering media content, and engaging with a staff of specialized academics and experts.
- The program also focuses on everything that would equip the student with skills enabling them to work independently, capable of media content creation, by empowering them to produce on their own and establish pioneering entrepreneurial projects in a world that is no longer exclusive to large institutions.
- To graduate digital media professionals who possess the sufficient knowledge, skill, and practical experience to easily and smoothly integrate into modern and technologically advanced work environments.
- To provide a cadre of media professionals with specialized expertise to meet the needs of official and private media institutions, as well as regional and international media organizations.
- To address the problem of unemployment in the community, specifically that which confronts graduates of traditional media. The issue is not a lack of job opportunities, but rather a change in the nature of these opportunities due to the emergence of new and non-traditional work environments.
- To enhance the graduate’s skills and capabilities to be entrepreneurial and capable of establishing their own media project in media environments based on digital entrepreneurship projects.
