Al-Kitab University celebrated the Iraqi National Day in an atmosphere filled with joy and pride, with the participation of University President Prof. Dr. Iyad Barzinji, Administrative Assistant Dr. Abd Al-Ilah Hameed, along with several college deans, faculty members, and students.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of Iraq’s martyrs, followed by the playing of the Iraqi national anthem, and a beautiful recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Mr. Alaa Al-Samarrai.
In his speech, the President of Al-Kitab University emphasized that the National Day is not merely an annual commemoration, but rather a moment of reflection to recall the sacrifices of our forefathers and to reaffirm our responsibilities toward our beloved country. He added that this occasion represents a call for dedication and commitment to building a strong and prosperous Iraq, founded on knowledge and science, and rooted in the values of justice, freedom, and genuine belonging.
The event also featured a documentary film produced by the College of Media, followed by a lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Adnan Qader, Dean of the College of Law, who highlighted Iraq’s deep historical roots and the importance of drawing lessons from its rich past.
The celebration concluded with a variety of artistic performances that embodied the spirit of unity and patriotism, amid enthusiastic interaction from the attendees who expressed their pride in this cherished national occasion.
