Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and in cooperation with Al-Kitab University in Iraq, Babylon University organized on September 9, 2025, the First International Forum on Social Issues. This was supported by the Women’s Affairs Department in the Office of His Excellency the Minister, headed by Dr. Nada Mutair Abbas Al-Abadi, and under the executive supervision of Dr. Shaima Al-Rubaie, Director of Women’s Affairs at Babylon University.

The forum was chaired by Professor Dr. Amin, President of Babylon University, and its main topic addressed the phenomenon of divorce and its social effects. The sessions were moderated by Dr. Abeer Damaq, Director of the Zuhair Shamma Media Center in Tunisia, and Professor Dr. Samir Saadoun Al-Jubouri from Al-Kitab University.

The forum program included:

• The opening session, which featured speeches by the President of Babylon University, the Director of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry, in addition to a speech by the women’s representative in the National Council of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
• The scientific session, during which scientific lectures were presented by Dr. Nirvana from Egypt, Dr. Shaima from Iraq, Dr. Amal Al-Jubouri, Dr. Ikram, and legal expert Nours.
• The closing session, which included the final recommendations of the forum, prepared and delivered by Dr. Nashtiman Hassan Abdullah, Women’s Affairs Officer at Al-Kitab University, in addition to honoring the participants and recording attendance.

This forum comes within the framework of enhancing academic cooperation between Iraqi, Arab, and international universities, and highlighting contemporary social issues while presenting scientific solutions and proposals for them.
