The College of Nursing at Al-Kitab University organized a scientific symposium titled “Food Quality Control,” presented by Dr. Honar Osman Ismail, with the attendance of faculty members and students.
In his lecture, Dr. Ismail addressed the importance of implementing quality control standards across all stages of food production, storage, and distribution to ensure food safety and quality while minimizing health risks caused by contamination or improper storage. He also discussed the significance of quality systems such as the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and their role in enhancing food safety monitoring.
The symposium witnessed active engagement from attendees, with numerous questions and interventions focusing on the reality of food safety in Iraq and ways to develop academic programs to incorporate quality control concepts as part of the curriculum.
This event is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the college to raise students’ scientific awareness and strengthen the connection between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in the health sector.
