Workshop on National Accreditation Requirements for Engineering Education at Al-Kitab University

Al-Kitab University, in collaboration with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, organized a workshop titled “Requirements for Obtaining National Accreditation for Engineering Education Programs” on Sunday. The event brought together a select group of academics and specialists in engineering education from various Iraqi universities.

The workshop featured a series of scientific lectures highlighting key aspects of national accreditation requirements. Prof. Dr. Ziad Suleiman Mohammed, Chairman of the Iraqi Council for Engineering Accreditation, delivered the first lecture, introducing the council’s standards and emphasizing their role in enhancing the quality of academic programs.

In the second lecture, Dr. Ali Naji Attiya, a member of the Iraqi Council for Engineering Accreditation, discussed Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and its role in aligning academic outputs with labor market needs.

The third lecture was presented by Dr. Jalal Mohammed Jalil from the Electromechanical Engineering Department at the University of Technology, focusing on methods for assessing students’ achievement of learning outcomes and measuring educational objectives.
