Al-Kitab University organizes an awareness seminar on the dangers of drugs

The Department of Education and Islamic Sciences at the College of Education at #Kitab_University organized an awareness seminar on combating drugs entitled “The phenomenon of the spread of drugs and psychotropic substances and their impact on society” in cooperation with both Al-Qalam University College and the Anti-Narcotics Police in Kirkuk Police Directorate. The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College of Education, Professor Dr. Alaa Sahib, and a group of college professors and students. The scientific seminar included several working papers that addressed the negative impact of drug abuse and the resulting risks to human health, in addition to its destructive social and economic effects, its risks to university students and its repercussions on the educational process, and the importance of educating students about the catastrophic risks of drug abuse or accompanying drug users and promoters. As well as knowing the types of narcotic substances in all their varieties, and their danger to humans because they destroy the cells of the nervous system and the rest of the cells of the human body in the case of addiction to them, which leads to the spread of crime due to their negative effects on the psychological state of the addicted person, in addition to explaining the causes of addiction and methods of combating drugs and treating addicts through medications or psychotherapy, and identifying the harms of smoking and its direct impact on public health because it is one of the negative phenomena prevalent in society and its negative effects on human health and the economic situation are no less than the effect of drugs, in addition to addressing the opinion of Islamic law because it prohibits this phenomenon in all its methods and types. The lecturers in this scientific symposium were Brigadier General Huma Raouf Al-Barzanji, First Lieutenant Ibrahim Suleiman, Dr. Linjah Saleh, Dr. Zana Hashem, Professor Dana Hussam Al-Din Al-Shaikhani, and Professor Nishtiman Hassan Abdullah.
