about the college
The College of Applied Arts is one of the colleges of Al-Kitab University under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It was established in the academic year 2023-2024 to meet the need for scientific specializations that contribute to the development of our country and serve the labor market. The college currently includes one scientific department: the Department of Technical Interior Design. The duration of study in the college is four years, including two years of summer training, after which the graduate is awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Design with the title of Designer. The college relies in its educational curriculum on theoretical and practical scientific lessons through distinguished and competent performance by the teaching and training staff, using the latest technologies, devices, and equipment to elevate the level of students. The student admission system includes graduates from the scientific and literary branches and distinguished top students from the vocational branch.
The College of Applied Arts has undertaken the mission of graduating cadres with high efficiency, professional capabilities, and creativity in the field of interior design techniques. It actively and distinctively participates in organizing numerous festivals and exhibitions that contribute to community development through effective community participation by graduating batches of trained and qualified designers equipped with the fundamentals of knowledge, modern professional skills, and innovative thinking. This enables them to provide distinguished community service and applied scientific research that helps solve many dilemmas and problems within the corridors of applied arts.

To become a College of Applied Arts that is distinguished locally, regionally, and globally by obtaining international academic accreditation for all its educational programs and in the various specializations in which primary and higher degrees are granted. This will be achieved by building exchange relationships with international universities in various countries worldwide, through distinction and originality in its research, and by having a future vision with a theoretical and applied character to keep pace with developments in the local and international environment. The college aims to rise to a level where beneficiaries of its specializations seek its graduates due to their competence, qualifications, innovation, and technical executive skills in the reality of the work field.

To provide students with knowledge, technical, and design skills within its specializations (Applied Arts) and to enhance cooperation with various sectors related to the college’s specializations inside and outside Iraq.
Goals
Prepare designers with technical expertise and high skills in the college’s specializations (Interior Design and Advertising Techniques).
Work to affirm and enhance quality standards that ensure the application of international standards in applied arts within the field of technical education.
Ensure keeping pace with developments in academic curricula to achieve the required level of knowledge and technical skill.
Work to create a suitable scientific and educational university work environment for students.
Strengthen ties between the college and various segments of society by building bridges of scientific and technical cooperation and exchanging experiences.
Work to communicate with peer scientific institutions inside and outside Iraq through communication and exchange of scientific and cognitive experiences.
