The Department of Medical Laboratory Technical Sciences at the College of Technical Medical Sciences – Al-Kitab University was established in the 2016-2017 academic year. The department plays a vital role in preparing skilled professionals who can support the healthcare sector by conducting accurate laboratory analyses and providing essential data for diagnosis and treatment.
The department’s mission is to produce graduates equipped with the latest technical skills and scientific knowledge necessary to excel in medical laboratory fields. Through a comprehensive and modern curriculum, students are trained in various laboratory techniques, including clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics. Our graduates are proficient in operating advanced laboratory instruments, handling biological samples, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.
The department is proud to house 12 specialized laboratories and 4 additional shared labs, offering students hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies. These facilities are designed to simulate real-world laboratory environments, allowing students to develop the practical skills they need for their future careers. The department also emphasizes research, encouraging students and faculty to engage in scientific exploration that addresses current challenges in medical diagnostics and contributes to the advancement of healthcare.
