about the department
The Department of Medical Devices Technical Engineering was established in the academic year 2017-2018. It includes a team of qualified scientific staff ready to welcome graduates from the scientific branch of secondary education.
The program lasts for four years, after which graduates are awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Devices Technical Engineering, recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The language of instruction is exclusively in English.
The department is equipped with lecture halls and laboratories covering all the specialized areas required during the four years of study.
The Department of Medical Devices Technical Engineering bridges electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control engineering, making it similar to a Mechatronics Engineering program. This interdisciplinary approach qualifies graduates to work in related fields and ensures that they are highly skilled professionals. Graduates are entrusted with handling medical devices used in the diagnosis of medical conditions, a role that requires precision, high performance, and professionalism due to the direct interaction with both the medical equipment and human lives.
