Welcome to the Technical Computer Engineering Department at Al-Kitab University. Established in 2012, the department is dedicated to preparing and graduating skilled technical engineers with expertise in computer engineering technology. Our graduates are proficient in designing electronic circuits, working with computer hardware, networks, and software systems.

Starting from the third year, the department offers two specialized branches: Computer Network Communications and Computer Electronics. The department accepts graduates from the scientific branch of high school and technical institutes, including the Departments of Electronics Technology, Control Devices, Medical Devices, Telecommunications, and Electrical Technology.

Graduates from our department are eligible to join the Iraqi Engineers Union, following the union’s decision dated 9/2/2009.

Our mission is to provide a high-quality research environment that supports both our faculty and students in conducting impactful research that serves the community and engages with the global context. We strive to prepare capable engineers who can meet the evolving needs of the market in the field of computer engineering technology.

The Department of Technical Computer Engineering aspires to be one of the leading departments in Iraq, recognized for its scientific rigor and distinguished education. Our vision is to advance knowledge and serve the community by providing continuous technical support and graduating highly skilled professionals who will contribute effectively to society.

Goals

  1. Graduate Highly Skilled Professionals: Produce graduates with a high level of understanding and knowledge, capable of designing, analyzing, and developing computer systems, while providing support and follow-up after graduation.

  2. Equip Students with Cutting-Edge Skills: Provide students with the latest skills in computer technology to align with scientific advancements and address the challenges of modern computing.

  3. Advance Research and Innovation: Develop and produce scientific and applied research in engineering fields to address industrial and service-related issues in the community.

  4. Contribute to Community Development: Actively participate in societal progress by organizing seminars, conferences, and continuing education, and offering academic consultations in computer engineering.
