A workshop at Al-Kitab University titled “Drugs: A Threat to Society.”

The College of Sciences at Al-Kitab University, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center, organized an awareness seminar titled “Drugs: A Threat to Society” as part of the national strategy to combat drug abuse adopted by the Iraqi government. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and their negative impact on individuals and communities.

Dr. Ibtisam Mohammed Saeed, a specialist in drug prevention, delivered a comprehensive lecture on the topic, discussing the different types of drugs prevalent in society, the reasons behind their spread, and their harmful effects on both physical and mental health. She also highlighted the devastating consequences of drug abuse on social and economic relationships.

The seminar was attended by a number of university students and faculty members, who actively engaged with the lecture content. Emphasis was placed on the vital role of educational institutions in raising awareness among young people and addressing this societal threat.

This workshop reflects Al-Kitab University’s commitment to serving the community by organizing awareness programs that contribute to drug prevention and help curb its spread among students.
