That the Department of Optics Technologies has a distinguished scientific position in the scientific and academic field locally and globally, and perform effective and influential application courses in the technical and health field, thus meeting the community’s need and market requirements.

Preparing graduates of the Department of Medical Optics Techniques after receiving distinguished academic education according to the most prestigious university curricula, in medical material sciences, head and eye anatomy, general pharmacology, eye medicine, general pathology and eye diseases, optical refraction, preparation of eyeglasses, contact lenses, low vision, etc. in theory and practice, as well as Practical skills inside and outside the university and in hospitals and specialized centers. Adapting all sources to reach excellence in education, research, and patient care, and contributing to patient care throughout Iraq to provide medical services and care in the field of optics, in line with ethical and professional traditions and values.

Create an advanced medical health technician cadre with a level of what exists in developed countries capable of providing health institutions and society and according to their needs of specializations in visual examination and determining the degree of vision and evaluation of strabismus to work in eye hospitals and health centers.
2. Enhancing the role and effectiveness of technical education in the knowledge society by adopting scientific paths, systems and curricula capable of supporting the structure of the technical workforce in Iraq at all levels.
3. Establishing cooperation and interaction links between our division and other corresponding departments locally, regionally and globally.
4. Seek to develop students ’scientific skills and expand their cognitive perceptions by providing ways to achieve scientific and professional aspirations for students of the department.
5. Providing medical services to sick citizens through various consulting clinics run by specialist doctors with the assistance of technical staff from the graduates of the department.
