The College of Pharmacy at AlKitab University launches the Green University project
On Tuesday (18/2/2020), the College of Pharmacy at Al-Kitab University launched the
Green University project, with the aim of spreading the culture of environmental
conservation.
On the occasion, a ceremonial event was attended by the President of the University,
Professor Dr. Ayad Ghani Ismail, the Administrative Deputy of the President of the
University, Dr. Abdul Hamid Yassin, and the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Nihad
Abdel Wahab and a number of professors and university teachers and students.
Dr. Nihad Abdel Wahab Mohamed, Dean of the College of Pharmacy said: The first year
students at the College of Pharmacy have launched the Green University project, which
aims to spread a culture of environmental conservation, noting that one of the priorities
of the college and the university is to make its campus a clean and conservative campus.
She added that AlKitab University has adopted a unique policy in this trend, as it has
become an obligation for every student to plant a tree, to be one of the requirements
for graduation degree at the university.
She explained that "the college provided the participants with the necessary supplies for
the project to succeed, by printing on special clothes (t-shirts) for students, a garbage
container, and printing flyers and awareness-raising publications."
The green university project, increasing green areas, and afforestation are among the
most important projects that the Presidency of the University pay special care to
improve environmental cleanliness since the University occupies a beautiful
geographical location that overlooks on a hill in Alton town, Kirkuk Governorate.
