The Foundation
The University was founded in 2012 under the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with its letter C / 1655 on 26/3/2013.
Al-Kitab University (Altoun kopri – Kirkuk) is considered today the icon of the private university education in Iraq. From its establishment in 2012, it has adopted a scientific research method based on advanced educational technology applying a global educational system as an accredited logo, which meets the ever-growing needs of the labour market to academically qualified and competent cadre. This is accompanied by professional skills to ensure obtaining job opportunities in a market where competition is increasingly fierce day after day.
The agenda of Al-Kitab University has always focused on being a contributing factor in enriching the society and developing it to adopt a clear and strict strategy in the service of society.
University Establishment:
Al-Kitab University started as a university College in 2012 with three scientific departments: Computer Engineering, Law and Financial sciences and Banking based on the letter of approval issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific Research no. 1655 dated 26 March 2013.
On 29 August, 2018, based on an official letter ref. no. 10616 issued by the Ministry of Higher education and scientific research, Al-Kitab University College was transferred to Al- kitab University to include colleges of: dentistry, Pharmacy, Administration and Financial Sciences, Engineering, Education, Medical Techniques, Engineering techniques, Law and Nursing.

The strategic objectives of Al-Kitab University:
The university is working to achieve its mission through the following objectives:
- Providing the qualified manpower to work in various fields that corresponds to the evolving needs of the labor market.
- Improving the educational and the administrative processes to contribute in the achievement of the university vision and mission.
- Development of faculty members.
- Improvement of our scientific achievements in a way that corresponds with the international/national accreditation standards.
- Development of the educational programs adopted to benefit from the international experiences in diverse specializations in a way that corresponds with the requirements of the labor market.
- Improving the capacity of personnel and creating new capabilities in line with quality requirements.
- Re-engineering of procedures in a way that facilitates processes, facilitating processes and adoption of modern techniques for mastering them.
- Reviewing the organizational structures of the College, departments, and centers that correspond with the new orientation of this university college.
- Completion of job descriptions for all formations of this university college.
- Development of methods of performance evaluation adopted in this university college depending on quality, not quantity as our philosophy.
