Welcome to the Department of Medical Instruments Technology at Al-Kitab University. The Department was established in the academic year 2017-2018. It includes a number of qualified teaching staff members, ready to receive and teach graduates of preparatory schools – the scientific section.
The study at the department continues for four years, after which the graduate will be granted a bachelor’s degree in engineering of medical equipment technology, which is recognized and accredited by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The language of instruction is English.
The department contains halls for theoretical studies and a number of laboratories, covering all the required competencies during the four years of study.
Our department is an interconnected part between electrical, electronic, mechanical and control engineering, which makes it a link between these departments, and serves as an engineering of Migatronics. This specialization is characterized as a qualification for engineers who graduate in order to work in the fields mentioned above. It also seeks to make the professional performance of the graduate very high because of the responsibility of dealing with medical devices and human element used to diagnose diseases which require accuracy, performance and professionalism.
It focuses on student learning through modern curricula, related skills with various scientific and practical sectors that demonstrate the importance of this specialization, creativity and innovation in teaching medical device technology to establish a local partnership with health institutions in Iraq and contribute to scientific research at the international level.
Qualifying distinguished, innovative, scientifically and behavioral competencies in the field of medical equipment technology, as well as providing community services through an advanced academic environment and keeping up with the corresponding departments in solid Arab and international universities by providing community services by providing the latest study programs to create an advanced academic environment.
- Providing the student with a scientific and practical skill that enables him to diagnose the resulting malfunctions in the medical devices.
- Graduating students with the ability to become familiar with the various medical devices and keep abreast of the development taking place in their technologies.
- Providing the graduate with the ability to have detailed knowledge of all modern technologies in the field of medical device engineering.
- Provide students with sufficient skill to make the necessary updates regarding medical devices.
